Sound and learning environments in the classroom

A good sound environment is a prerequisite for a good learning environment
The students' ability to learn depends largely on whether they can hear the teacher and the other students during lessons. However, studies have shown that students do not take in 25 % of what the teacher and other students say. They become tired and restless, lose concentration and their benefit from the lesson is reduced. The teacher often has to raise his/her voice and repeat what was said, resulting in frequent voice problems.

Part of the explanation for this can be found in the acoustic conditions prevailing in the classroom, which pose major challenges for both teachers and students. They have to compete daily with conditions like distance, background noise and reverberation.
